Homing
I was out driving around Detroit this evening when I spotted some weird, far-off infrastructure I had to see. I found my way to it and jaw-droppedly meandered my way through, gawking and lookin’ for a place to pull over so I could take photos. When I spotted a sign identifying the place, I realized that this was the factory where my grandpa worked.
Granted, it has a blue flame that’s very bright at night, and yes, the place is huge and old and famous. But nonetheless, spotting a factory on the horizon is nothing out of the ordinary in Detroit, like seeing a block of red brick houses in St. Louis.
I had never been to this place before, and only knew where it was in the vaguest and most general of terms. I had been planning to visit tomorrow.
